Major Strategic Communication & Management
From image campaigns to crisis communication, from employer branding to social media, from internal communication to engaging diverse audiences – strategic communication plays a vital role in shaping how organizations are perceived. It is an essential tool for companies, public institutions, and NGOs to achieve their objectives, build trust, and maintain visibility in an increasingly fragmented media landscape. The specialized Master’s program in Strategic Communication & Management offers in-depth expertise and the latest research insights into organizational communication. Students examine how communication strategies are developed, how they are received, and what impact they have – on attitudes, behaviors, and public opinion.
The program covers key areas of application including public relations, advertising, campaign management, internal communication, social marketing, and more. Students also explore pressing questions: How do digital platforms, shifting social values, and global contexts influence strategic communication? What communication styles, patterns, and goals do different types of organizations pursue? And how can communication processes be effectively managed, meas-ured, and continuously improved?
The sample curriculum illustrates one of several ways to plan your studies. It outlines a full-time program over four semesters. In the major/minor model (totaling 120 ECTS credits), you will typically complete around 30 ECTS credits per semester. It is also possible to take a reduced course load per semester, in which case the duration of your studies will be extended accordingly. The major study program Strategic Communication & Management can be started in the fall or spring semester.
