Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2024

On June 17th, 2024 the Reuters Institute at the University of Oxford published its annual Digital News Report.  Mark Eisenegger and Linards Udris represented Switzerland as country partners. Together with Maude Rivière and Silke Fürst, they published a short country report in addition to the Digital News Report, focusing on data specific to Switzerland.

The results of this year's report show that despite crises, people of all age groups in Switzerland are using the news less and less. 36% actively avoid it sometimes or even often. Nevertheless, 41% of people trust most of the media. Willingness to pay has stagnated at a low level for three years.
