11.02.2020New project to research science-related conspiracy theories

Prof. Mike S. Schäfer and Dr. Jing Zeng have received an SNF grant to research science-related conspiracy theories. This three-year project runs from 2020 to 2023. It is a joint effort between the Science Communication team of IKMZ at the University of Zurich and Fluminense Federal University in Brazil. Researchers from the two universities will map the role and dissemination of science-related conspiracy theories in different online environments, taking a cross-national, cross-language and cross-platform comparative perspective. The primary aim of this project is to develop a contextualised understanding of, as well as counter-measures towards, such conspiracy theories - both in the German-speaking region and in Brazil.
