Minor Social Sciences
The complexity of today’s social structures and the dynamic nature of societal change demand strong social science competencies – both in professional settings and in everyday life. These skills enable individuals to en-gage critically and reflectively with current and future challenges. The Master’s Minor in Social Sciences fosters a deep understanding of social interdependencies through a broad, interdisciplinary curriculum. Drawing on courses from political science, sociology, communication and media studies, empirical cultural studies, and religious studies, the program equips students with a well-rounded foundation in key social issues and the analytical tools needed to critically examine them. This minor prepares students for roles at the intersection of business, academia, international relations, public administration, law, education, government, and the public sector. This interdisciplinary program is offered in cooperation with several UZH departments, including the Department of Political Science (IPZ), the Department of Communication and Media Research (IKMZ), the Department of Reli-gious Studies, the Department of Social Anthropology and Empirical Cultural Studies, and the Department of Sociology.
Please note: The main language of instruction is German.
