Climate Change Perceptions Among South African Publics

Although public perceptions of climate change have been subject to numerous studies, research has focused mostly on developed countries. That is why our knowledge about people’s understanding of and attitudes towards climate change remains incomplete. What is lacking, in particular, is qualitative research in developing countries. Consequently, this study aims at contributing to a growing body of literature on this issue by analyzing people’s perceptions of climate change through semi-structured interviews with different segments of the South African population, carried out in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
