In this new issue of "Forschung und Lehre", Prof. Mike Schäfer discusses the consequences of changing science communication. Nowadays, communicating science is not only about transfering knowledge. In contrast, the communication of science is incrasingly used to legitimize it by e.g. increasing universities' reputations and thereby securing further resources.
