Dr. Maud Reveilhac, formerly a Senior Research and Teaching Associate at the Department of Communication and Media Research at the University of Zurich, has been appointed Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Digital Social Science at the LUT School of Engineering Sciences at Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT), Finland.
Maud completed a PhD at the University of Lausanne, where her thesis explored the integration of social media data into public opinion research, critically assessing the evolving role of traditional opinion surveys. Her work was recognized with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Prix de la Faculté 2023. She has extensive experience in empirical social science research, particularly in survey methodology, computational methods, and the role of digital media in public discourse.
Since 2023, Maud has been the scientific coordinator of the Swiss News Viz Media Lab at the Digital Society Initiative of the University of Zurich. She also collaborates with researchers on projects at the intersection of digital communication, the implications of large language models for democracy and citizen information, and new methods for public opinion analysis. In Zurich, she has contributed as a research collaborator to the University Research Priority Program (URPP) Digital Religion(s).
Maud has been recognized for excellence in teaching, receiving the 2024 Best Teaching Award at IKMZ for the Master course on Multivariate Statistics.
She will assume the position of Assistant Professor at LUT University in March 2025, bringing her expertise in computational social science and digital methodologies to further interdisciplinary research and teaching in Finland.
