About
Shinyi Kang is a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Communication and Media Research (IKMZ) at the University of Zurich. Her research explores how people practice and express creativity through digital media, and how these experiences are evolving with technological advancements. Through her work, Shinyi hopes to inform and help reimagine people’s interaction with digital technology for the better.
Shinyi’s background spans conducting AI literacy research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and leading a blockchain education initiative in Abu Dhabi. She holds a master’s degree in education from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in interactive media and business from New York University Abu Dhabi. Outside of work, she enjoys designing tabletop games that draw on real-world themes and social dynamics.
