Lecturer – Digital Health Communication

The Lecturer position Digital Health Communication deals with the opportunities and challenges of digitalization for health communication.

Sarah Geber has held the position since March 2024. She understands digitalization as a process of increasing interconnectedness and primarily researches social influences on health-related behaviour in digital media environments and the role of algorithms in this context.
Specifically, she investigates social and algorithmic processes in three areas: 1) social media and risk behavior of young people, 2) mobile media and well-being and 3) news media and crisis prevention behavior.
