The Digital Health Communication team examines the opportunities and challenges of digitalization for health communication.
We understand digitalization as a process of increasing networking and algorithmization. Accordingly, we primarily research social influences on health-related behavior in digital media environments and the role of algorithms in this context. Specifically, we investigate social and algorithmic processes in three areas: 1) news media and crisis prevention behavior, 2) social media and risk behavior of young people, and 3) mobile media and well-being.
